Dong-Hwan Lim, artiste-designer, est né en 1989 à Séoul, Corée du Sud.
Dong-Hwan Lim a une pratique centrée autour du vêtement et du textile. Il se forme au design à l’école de la Chambre Syndicale de Paris et étudie le vêtement masculin à l’Académie Internationale de Coupe de Paris (AICP). Son travail s’intéresse à la question de l’apparence, l’expression des sentiments et des croyances intérieures par l’enveloppe extérieure du corps, et de notre existence qui s’essouffle face à l’ultra digitalisation du monde. Dans ses œuvres, il réinterprète également les rituels traditionnels asiatiques pour en changer le sens.
En 2017, il réalise deux expositions avec le collectif «Sinbis» dont l’une à la Galerie glass 41 à Paris. Depuis 2022, il collabore avec Sung Myungja, designer de teinture coréenne et professeur de philosophie asiatique, sur le projet de sculptures «Backbee». En tant que designer, il a collaboré avec Charaf Tajer (Casablanca Paris), Balmain et Icicle.

Dong-Hwan Lim, artist-designer, was born in 1989 in Seoul, South Corea.
Dong-Hwan Lim’s practice focuses on clothing and textiles. He trained in design at the Chambre Syndicale school in Paris and studied menswear at the Académie Internationale de Coupe de Paris (AICP). His work is interested in the question of appearance, the expression of feelings and inner beliefs through the outer envelope of the body, and of our existence that is running out of steam in the face of the ultra-digitization of the world. In his works, he also reinterprets traditional Asian rituals to change their meaning.
In 2017, he held two exhibitions with the «Sinbis» collective, one of which was at the Galerie glass 41 in Paris. Since 2022, he has been collaborating with Sung Myungja, a Korean dye designer and professor of Asian philosophy, on the «Backbee» sculpture project. As a designer, he has collaborated with Charaf Tajer (Casablanca Paris), Balmain and Icicle.
