Reflexlab, studio de recherche bo-inspiré créé en 2018 par Tom Samson, ingénieur matériaux.
Dans un contexte de profonds bouleversements technologiques, environnementaux et sociétaux, il est impératif d’engager une transition de nos méthodes de production et de penser un design plus cohérent à l’échelle du cycle de vie de l’objet. S’inspirer du vivant pour concevoir et fabriquer devient une nécessité.
Dans ce sens, le ReflexLab se positionne comme un studio de recherche bio-inspiré dédié à l’implémentation de nouveaux procédés de fabrication numérique et de matériaux écologiques dans le domaine du design et de l’ameublement. Son activité de recherche s’articule autour de 3 axes : le développement de matériaux issus de ressources naturelles et de déchets agro-industriels, le développement de machines outils, de procédés et de logiciels pour l’impression 3D, la production et l’édition d’objets bio-inspirés.

In a context of profound technological, environmental and societal upheavals, it is imperative to engage in a transition of our production methods and to think of a more coherent design on the scale of the life cycle of the object. Drawing inspiration from the living world to design and manufacture is becoming a necessity.
In this sense, ReflexLab positions itself as a bio-inspired research studio dedicated to the implementation of new digital manufacturing processes and ecological materials in the field of design and furniture. Its research activity is articulated around 3 axes : the development of materials from natural resources and agro-industrial waste, the development of machine tools, processes and software for 3D printing, and the production and edition of bio-inspired objects.
